Clan Specific:
Kit/Pup:
- A newborn to 6 moons (aka half year, two seasons) old.
- Live with the queens and those who take care of them and are not allowed out of the den for one moon and not out of the camp until three moons.
- You are only allowed to make a kit with at least one parent. If that means making and playing a parent so be it, but it's preferred that you apply to an existing need for a litter.
Apprentice:
- A young clan member 6 moons or older learning from older clan mates. Each apprentice is assigned two members to mentor them, usually a Hunter and Warrior to get them ready for either path they choose however a Sage takes on one apprentice. Leaders, Right-Paws and Deputies may take on apprentices under their old ranks, hunter or warrior.
- Apprentices are required to do menial chores like taking care of the Elders and Queens, cleaning the camp, running errands, etc.
- Their is usually a den for apprentices.
- Apprentices become either a Hunter or Warrior depending on their choosing after they decide which one to become and their mentors plus the leader decide they are ready and the apprentice in question passes a proficiency test. Once they are accepted into the clan as their new rank, they stand silent vigilance through the night.
- You may apply an apprentice character
Hunters:
- Hunters are primarily trained to hunt for the clan, though they also can act as fast messengers when the time needs or any job needing stealth and/or speed.
- Hunters and Warriors share a den, usually.
- Hunters and Warriors are both eligible to become deputy, right-paw or leader and, if they hold a fair amount of herbal and spiritual knowledge may become Sage in the rare account of the Sage and Sage-apprentice dieing/disappearing.
- You may apply a character of this rank.
Warriors:
- Warriors are primarily trained to guard and fight for the clan. They preform border patrols, clan guards and other duties requiring a fair amount of strategic intelligence, strength and/or fierceness.
Queens:
- Queens are warriors, hunters, right-paw or deputies that have become pregnant with kits or pups. They are moved to the nursery.
- Queens are exempt from previous duties and may choose to spend the rest of their life as a queen helping other mothers and kits without mothers.
- Queens also may return to duty as soon as their kits are weened as long as another queen can care for them.
- You may apply a character of this rank if you have a reason to, i.e your character has a playable mate or something.
Elders:
- Elders are members that are too old or too unable to render service to the clan in normal ways. They usually move to the elder's den. A ceremony is held when a clan member wishes to retire from duty as to honor their commitment to the clan. In cases where a member was injured or otherwise unable to help the clan a ceremony of honor is given, not mentioning the move to elder-ship.
- Elders are usually the ones to impart wisdom and stories as well as inform kits and apprentices of the values of the clan ways as well as take care of any death ceremonies.
- Elders are trusted consultants of the current leader and their input is always valued.
- You may apply a character of this rank.
Sage:
- The Sage acts as healer, negotiator and spiritual guide all in one. They must go to a cave near the abandoned lab and converse with their predecessors and ancestors then return the next night.
- They have their own den usually near the nursery.
- They are learned in either being a Hunter or Warrior depending on their secondary training.
- You may only apply a character of this rank if it is open.
Deputy:
- The deputy is the third-in command acting as the Right-paw's right paw.
- The night the deputy is chosen, they stand a silent vigilance near the clan.
- The deputy will usually move into the Right-Paw's rank once the Right-Paw becomes leader, however this isn't always the case. If another member is chosen to be Right-Paw above them the deputy usually keeps their spot with honor, though the Right-Paw has every right to choose a new deputy.
- You may only apply a character of this rank if it is open.
Right-Paw:
- The Right-Paw is a trusted cat, usually but not always the leader's old deputy when they were the Right-Paw.
- The Right-Paw is the next leader.
- When the Right-Paw is named they must stand a silent vigilance at night. If they fail at keeping vigil they are removed from this rank and moved to the elder's den with no ceremony.
- The Right-Paw names patrols and such.
- You may only apply a character of this rank if it is open.
Leader:
- Once the old leader retires or dies the deputy must go out into the neutral territory, usually the old lab, but anywhere is acceptable for one night while the sub deputy keeps watch over the clan. During that night they eat herbs given to them by the Sage and experience dreams through which their ancestors and predecessors talk to them. If the deputy is found worthy by their ancestors they will come back to the clan the next morning as the sun rises, no later or earlier.
- The leader oversees the clans, makes important decisions, calls meetings and presides over ceremonies.
- A leader receives something precious one their night of recognition. For cats it's nine lives and for dogs it's the gift of second chance. I.E while a cat would get run over by a car and still live a dog would get hit by the car but at a place so the car wheels didn't touch the dog (aka extreme luck).
- You may only apply a character of this rank if it is open.
All Canine:
Alpha:
- The alpha pair, the absolute law of the pack. These mates are the only ones allowed to breed.
- They are the most dominant canines of the pack.
- Challenges: the looser is usually but not always kicked out of the pack depending on their threat level. (i.e more likely to challenge again = out of the pack but probably learned his lesson = staying but probably as iota.)
- You may only apply a character of this rank if it is open.
Beta:
- The two second most dominant canines mated or not. If one or both are female they are usually bred with the alpha male, if one or both are males they may get breeding rights if they petition the alpha.
- You may only apply a character of this rank if it is open.
Delta:
- Delta start out as Iota and as they prove themselves in hunting, fighting and being loyal they are considered deltas/
- You may apply a character of this rank.
Iota:
- Iota make up the majority of the pack and is the default rank. They do menial chores .
- You may apply a character of this rank.
Pups:
- The future of the pack, highly regarded for 6 moons to a year before they are considered Iota.
- They help the Iota on easier tasks.
- You may apply a character of this rank.
Omega:
- Usually only one or two canines are omega but more have been known to occur in the pack's times of great size. They act as peace-makers and healers but aren't always regarded well.
- They will never be anything other than an Omega, unless they join a clan where being docile isn't a flaw.
- You may apply a character of this rank.
All Feline:
- King (Despite gender), Deputy, Warriors, Queen, Kits, Sage, Elders; ranks in order of importance. You may challenge for any position except King, if you loose in a challenge to Deputy you are kicked out of the clan.
- You may apply a character to any rank except leader or deputy unless those positions are open.
